Has anyone lost a toe nail?

im losing my 2 big toe nails at the moment, how long does it take them to grow back? and does it hurt?Has anyone lost a toe nail?
yes . it hurts when they come off and it might be a little tender afterwards .

I lost one of my large nails last year. It did not hurt when it fell off. It took about 3-4 months to grow all the way in.
Okay i'v never lost a toe nail but a finger nail yes!

if you leave it then you wont really notice just keep it bandaged up!


but dont pick it or try to peal it off yourself


that hurts more!


and at night dont wear socks andkeep your foot out the bed!


it doesn't take that long to grow back about a week or 2 but if you bandage it you wont be able to tell! hope it works
When I lost mine, post-pregnancy, the new nails were growing underneath. It was really uncomfortable rather than painful as the exposed nail-bed is not used to being uncovered. Get some big plasters to use to keep them covered if yours are very sensitive.





It takes longer than a month to grow a new nail from scratch (excuse the pun!). Nails grow at about 1/8-1/4'; per month (3-5mm).
