My dog's toe nail is about to fall out. It is very pain full for him! he's a jack Russell. Any advice?????

My Jack Russell tears out toenails 3 or 4 times a year, I think he just plays too hard. I'd take him to the vet, while you're there ask him how to handle it yourself next time it happens. My dog's toe nail is about to fall out. It is very pain full for him! he's a jack Russell. Any advice?????
Try taping it to another nail and bandage it but make sure you clean it well with antiseptic and put a antibiotic cream alsoMy dog's toe nail is about to fall out. It is very pain full for him! he's a jack Russell. Any advice?????
Take him to the vet, so it can be removed as painlessly as possible, and get some antibiotic so he doesn't get an infection.
get the clippers u need to keep his nails trimmed
Take him to the vet so that it can either be removed or repaired and medication given for infections if any.
Take him to the vet.
get a real dog

sorry that was a bit mean

sedatives maybe???????????????
As you are a kind owner it would be best to take your dog to be seen by a vet who will cure the nail problem and stop your dogs suffering and further potential problems such as infection which will cause more suffering and more expense.
You need to take you dog to a vet, depending upon the reason that the nail is coming out they will need to either remove it or fix it.

If you keep him at home and do nothing the chances of a sever infection are great, and the expense to you and the cost in pain to your dog are considerable. If they give you any static about getting in just tell them you have an animal in distress.

Until you can get in about the best thing for him is Rimadyl, maybe 10 mg. I'm no doctor...see a vet.

One of my dogs has a twisted nail and the vet was just able to twist it back into position and cut it short then in time the nail grew in the way it was. But he had all the equipment to anesthetize the dog, clip the nail and cordorize it and wrap the foot. Not to mention all the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication.

A friend of mind had a similar thing happen, the vet removed the nail and filled the hole to prevent infection until it healed, plus all the meds.

It鈥檚 nothing to fool around with.
Take him to the vet is the best advice anyone can give you
they sale doggie aspirin at pet stores....and go to the vet
take him to the vet.
end his suffering and put him to sleep
always be with him and try to keep him happy.once the same has happend to mine too.
I own a Jack Russell-17 month old spayed female-there is some paid involved-but once the nail falls out, the new will start to grow in. My Q's: what happened that the nail is falling out in the first place? Accident, or abuse.
