Are there any good home remedies for ingrown toe nails?

I had to live with one for a long, long time. Seemed like about 7 months or so. I simply refused to go to the doctor since I had suffered from them in the past, and they had always went away by themselves. But, after telling my father about this, he told me a simple way of fixing it, if indeed it is fixable. (some ingrown toenails, ie. infected ones, should be seen by a doctor!)

Anyway, if you were to use some nail clippers, and carefully cut a V in the middle-top portion of the afflicted toe's toenail, try not to go to deep or you will agitate your skin, it will cause the nail to grow into that gap, thus slowly pulling the nail away from the side that is causing discomfort. Mind you, this may take a week or so before you notice an improvement, but it does work a lot of the time.

Ingrown tonails aren't in fact ';growing into the toe';, however they are being pushed against the side-lip of skin on your toe to a point that it can cause a reaction. Tight shoes and socks are a leading cause. Are there any good home remedies for ingrown toe nails?
No. And please don't try to fix the problem yourself. You will only cause more damage. See a podiatrist.
see your doctor and get them cut out if not that bad when your trimming the toe nails cut them straight not rounded, rounded is what causes the ingrown nail just went through this myself
