External cure for toe nail fungus ?

My favourite question :-)

The answer is tea tree oil ...

Get some sandpaper and use it to sand down the shiny top layer of the nail. It's what protects the nail bed and also what keeps the fungus safe so to speak. The shiny layer will prevent the tea tree from soaking in and getting to the fungus. Easiest is to soak a a cotton bud/Q-tip in tea tree oil and cover the nail with it. Make sure you go well in the corners and also try getting the tea tree oil under the nail itself.

Repeat this morning and evening every day.

Mine took two weeks to start looking better and after 3 months i got rid of it.

ps. I used sandpaper cause it's cheap and i also did all my other toenails at the time on the advice of a foot doctor. She was also the one that told me that for tea tree oil to work it would need to get past the protective shiny layer hence the sandpaper .... should you decide to do all your toes make sure you use bit of fresh sandpaper for each toe.

A great topical treatment for nail fungus is Renewed Nail.

From the website:

';As Renewed Nail庐 is being absorbed into the keratin of the nail, it kills fungus on direct contact. The clear solution of Renewed Nail庐 seals of the nail surface blocking the absorption of air and water which deprives the fungus from its main source of life.

The first one year clinical study of 154 patients with mild, moderate and severe disease produced negative cultures in all three groups of 100%, 65% and 36% respectively. Considering all groups collectively, the result was 49%. ALL groups noted clinical improvement in the first 3 months.

Depending on the degree of the infection and the condition of the nails, improvement could take 2-18 months or longer to return nails to normal.';

Also, there are no known side effects. I don't think this is written on the website, but the most effective way to use Renewed Nail is to apply the solution every other day.External cure for toe nail fungus ?
Crikey mate, any external method you use will at best bandaid the problem without actually getting to the cause of the issue ....... the classic telltale signs of a yeast overgrowth ....... candidiasis ...... are those of fungal toenails or fingernails,a white tongue (thrush), jock itch or athlete's foot, and vaginal yeast infections........... an overgrowth of yeast can affect virtually every system of the body with the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, endocrine, nervous and immune systems being the most susceptible.... common symptoms of candidiasis include:

Digestive disorders, including IBS;

Gastrointestinal symptoms: thrush, bloating gas, rectal itching;

Vaginal yeast infections;

Urinary tract infections;

Athlete's foot or jock itch;

Cravings for sugar, bread, or alcohol;

Diaper rash;

Fatigue;

Irritability (especially when hungry);

Premenstrual syndrome and menstrual problems;

Fibromyalgia;

headaches;

Brain fog;

Skin problems or itching;

Numbness or tingling in the extremities;

Respiratory problems;

Depression;

Hypoglycemia;

Short attention span;

Loss of libido.

Candidiasis almost never occurs in people with healthy immune systems who eat a diet low in sugar and yeast....you need to avoid all yeast and sugar products to kill a yeast infection ......... sugar will literally feed the yeast overgrowth allowing it to flourish......... ditch the alcohol and sodas and diet sodas too if you drink any .......... antiobiotics, especially broad - spectrum antiobiotics will also kill the helpful bacteria which you need for a healthy gut ........ supplement with a good quality probiotic to rebalance gut flora ......... this part is absolutely essential for without the good flora your system will remain completely out of whack ...... eat more alkaline forming foods such as leafy and green vegies, fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting, organic nuts and seeds such as almonds and brazil nuts........ all these foods are rich in magnesium and will thus encourage the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy aiding in digestion and effective elimination ........the leafy greens and fishes are also rich in calcium and protein and the fish are a rich source of vitamin D too ....... eat organic brown rice and quinoa (prounounced keen ~ wah) as they are both a rich source of the B complex of vitamins and will provide you with the carbs you need for sustained energy and the quinoa is also rich in calcium and iron .......... don't forget about getting enough iron on a daily basis too ie ~ lean red meats ..... Avoid sugars such as honey, molasses, fructose, maltose, lactose (that means all milk and dairy products) and fruit juices ...... avoid artificial sweetners and foods containing brewer's yeast - ie - alcohol such as beer, wine, brandy, whiskey, rum, ciders and root beer.... avoid baker's yeast ie ~ breads and rolls and pastries .... avoid mushrooms ... avoid fruits and vegies with any sign of mold growth on them .... avoid fermented beverages and condiments including mayonnaise, ketchup, pickled vegies and pickles, salad dressings (use lemon and olive oil instead), soy sauce and vinegar .... avoid all types of hard cheeses which are a pretty good source of mold.... avoid processed and smoked meats and fish, including hot dogs, sausages, luncheon meats etc....... these meats are processed with sugar, spices, yeast and other preservatives .... avoid canned bottled or frozen fruit and vegie juices cos they have loads of sugar and are commonly made from overripened or damaged produce; generally the skin of the fruit contains surface mold and rotten spots, which are pulverised into the juice... avoid dried fruits.... avoid coffee %26amp; tea as much as you can as caffeine will aggravate yeast overgrowth..................... you don't need to use medications to kill a yeast overgrowth ..... simply eliminate their food source and they will disappear on their own ...... if you normalise the bacterial flora in the gastrointestinal tract you will feel much better and in most cases won't need drugs 鈾?br>

truly, eat loads and loads of green and leafy vegies, squeeze lemon juice over it to spice it up and help torch bacteria and bolster both your immunity and digestive process ........eat some low sugar fruits each day too such as strawberries, pears and watermelon and cold water fresh fishes and brown rice / quinoa and watch it clear up........ oh, drink loads and loads of fresh filtered water to ... to ensure you are properly hydrated as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one .

make sure that you only eat organic nuts and seeds like almonds, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds too as they ';preserve'; the commercial varieties with sulfites and other nasty chemicals that will upset sensitive digestive systems.

peace 2 you

I have been using straight bleach (Clorox) with a saturated q-tip. I run it all around the nail and especially where the nail bed is attached to the toe. That takes care of the new growth. I have used for 6 months now and it is clearing up. I have only the one nail (on the big toe) that is infected. But it is working. It is growing out clear from the nail bed. Hope this helps.
DON'T USE BLEACH, it is too toxic(in the long run).

Don't even use bleach or chlorine to clean with, never.

Use vinegar instead - never has a toxic side effect, and it works better.

...

now, for other purposes, coconut oil is the best. it kills bacteria, viruses , funguss and mold and mildew.

coconut oil is the only food besides honey that never goes bad .

(processed coconut oil might go bad, so use unrefined)
Vick's Vapor Rub Cream. It takes awhile but it does work. Rub it all over your toenail and cuticle area every night. Use a tooth pick or q-tip to help get it under the back side of the nail.

I have heard some people say that tea tree oil is also good, but I'm not sure. The Vick's works!
Hi there,you could try something like an anti fungal treatment available over the counter,or go with some of the ideas of others.

Bellow are a couple of quick links that may help.i am not endorsing these products.

I certainly would not endorse using chlorine bleach on any part of the body. You might consider half and half solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. Use a cotton ball, swab or in a small spray bottle.
Sunlight, soaking them in a week bleach bath, dry thoroughly and put petroleum jelly on to keep the fungus from getting air. Don't wear tight fitting shoes that make your toe nails hurt when you take them off. Good Luck! :)
Vick's vapor rub, apply it at least 2x a day and it'll take awhile but you'll see improvement with continued use.
