Dog's toe nail is bleeding?

I clipped my dog's toe nail too short, now it's bleeding like crazy for about the last 10min. Will she take care of it on her own? What can I do to help? It's 11 here.Dog's toe nail is bleeding?
';If the toenail is cut too short, you can use a styptic pencil containing silver nitrate to stop blood flow, although many animals object to the styptic pencil as much, or more, than toenail cutting. The black end of the stick is held to the bleeding nail and gently rotated until bleeding stops.

Even without any treatment the nail should stop bleeding in about 5 minutes or less.';

Next time you will have to be super gentle to not cut the quick- dogs remember that pain and will develop a fear of clippers.

Sugar, frosting, corn starch, flour, all work as well but be careful of infection and that you are cleaning it well!

Good Luck!Dog's toe nail is bleeding?
yeah, it can bleed really bad for a long time. I'm guessing you have no stiptic powder in the house. try to wrap it and put pressure on it. If it wont stop, Go to walgreens and see if they have stipstic sticks, with the men's shaving items.
well it will stop on it's own but your dog is in pain and losing blood so if their is a nearby vet and your really worried about your dog then take it to the vet. next time don't cut the nail so far or have an experienced person cut it (like a qualified dog groomer). clean up your dog's nail as best as you can and comfort it. hope this helps!
No ! you have to stop the bleeding yourself ! Go in the kitchen and get some Flour ,self rising or plain ! Put it in a bowl dry as it is, hold your dog and put the nail thats bleeding in the flour and hold it in the flour for 10 to 15 mins to stop the bleeding !!! if it still bleeds after 10 mins or so then you need to do it again ,keep doing it until it stops bleeding ! you cut the pink part which is the quick of the nail, you should only cut the white part of the nail and only a small end of the nail so you don't cut the quick. ou best not cut anymore, the vet don't charge to much to cut the nails for you !! good luck, this will work ,the flour will stop the bleeding !
what you need is styptic powder and you wont find that at this hour so try some bar soap on the nail where it is just pat the blood off,if it wont stop keep the paper towel on it till it does, then rub the bar soap on the nail untill it will stop.My mother in law told me that a liong time ago.good luck
Put pressure on the end for at least 10 min to let it clot. Next time trim just a little at a time.
If you have a bar of soap, rub it on the nail that is bleeding.

If not, hold her and apply gentle pressure with a soft cloth until it stops bleeding.

Remember to praise if she doesn't get aggressive with you!
you might have to take him in to the vet because you could kill him if you cut them to short.
That happened to my dog and it bled for a while but he took care of it himself and he was just fine.
yes yes yes, EXACT same thing happened 2 my dog, we called the vet, she said to pack it tightly in powdery something.... flour cornstarch..... pack in in tight and hold it in there for at least 5 minutes..... cured my pup. keep presure and when it stops bleeding, let ur dog lick it off if it wants to.
It will eventually stop on it's own, but next time, make sure you don't cut so far up, watch for the quick and have some KwikStop handy if it should happen again.
This is gonna sound strange but put a little sugar on the nail. It will give the blood something to clot to and stop the bleeding quicker.
Hold a towel on the nails, it should stop soon.
Keep pressure on it as you would any other cut. There is a powder that can be bought in pet stores called '; quik Stop'; that is handy to have around, but for now pressure and maybe a bit of baking soda will help stop it.
Well, it dosen't sound like a good idea to clip those. Use cool water and rinse and dap dry the owie with a towel then bandage it with gauze and water proof tape. Hopefully the dog won't try to chew it off. Do this once or twice. Animal heal proficiency will kick in.
Pack the nail with corn starch or flour.
It's will stop eventually. Its just like cutting your nail too short, it's going to be painful to your dog but she will be fine
if its still bleeding really bad..put flour on the end of her nail and it will stop the bleeding. Do this after you wipe away what blood is there.
There is a small amout of hair that juts out around the nail that is called a quick. It can be used as a guide to cutting nails properly. If you cut too much off the quick the nail will start bleeding.
ok wrap it in a damp cloth and let it sit and it will eventually to away if not apply direct preasure if then still it doesnt stop call ur vet for advice
Quick blood stopper

Have none press a paper towel on it for 10-15 min
